Islands Restaurant Phoenix
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
“We are able to order a few items here for our son. The kids burger bread is vegan and nut-free. We get him a piece of chicken on the bun with sweet potato fries and steamed broccoli. The manager is always helpful and the servers are too. They do not use nuts except in one dessert that is held in a different prep area.”

David’s Burgers
Location: Bryant, Arkansas
“My daughter has had wonderful, safe food at all David’s Burgers restaurants in our area for years! The buns are safe from all her allergens, and when we order they will flag the order as an allergy and make sure they wipe the grill before they cook her burger. We still always double check just in case. The delicious fries are always safe too!”

CALIFORNIA
Father’s Office
Location: Los Angeles, California
“I was recently told that Father’s Office had the best burger in LA (The Office Burger)—apparently they were awarded a Michelin star just for the burger, so of course I had to see for myself and to say the least, it delivered!! An amazing burger with rich melted cheese on top, and no sesame on the bun!! Staff told me there were no nuts served in the restaurant and they could handle the sesame. Delicious, stress-free burger!”

Cowgirl Kitchen
Location: Rosemary Beach, Florida
“Sometimes you go back to the same restaurant every visit to Seaside, because the WAITRESS cares. This restaurant is filled with all the allergens, but the same lovely server, who has been there for 10 years, takes her time to learn about your allergies and communicates everything with the kitchen. She makes sure nut allergic guests steer clear of the nut filled salad section and that her chef changes gloves when preparing for a food-allergy guest. Bonus: no sesame seeds on their hamburger buns! Grab a table outside and and enjoy.”

LuLu’s Destin
Location: Destin, Florida
“This was a great experience for our allergy kid. We brought our list of allergens. Only a manager takes the order for food allergies. There are separate menus for several common allergens, but they were able to take our whole list and make something. He was able to get a hamburger (with bun) and a fruit cup. They even changed the seasoning to simple salt and pepper to help us be comfortable (although the seasoning mixture sounded fine). I asked and they are a completely nut-free facility. Also don’t have any sesame. Unfortunately, the French fries are covered in gluten and whey protein, but they tell you up front they’re not safe for allergy people. Mom is also gluten-free and was able to get a good meal.”

“Gotta give a BIG shoutout to Crusade Burger in Yorkville. They were very accommodating for my peanut, tree nut, and seed-allergic kiddo. She got to eat a burger WITH A BUN! And the best part, their massive monster (mind you $15) milkshakes were safe for her too!!”

Lucy’s
Location: Chicago, Illinois
“They do not have any peanuts or tree nuts in house and were educated about allergies. They use vegetable oil in the fryers. Even the milkshakes were safe, which was super exciting! I had the classic burger with fried pickle spears and a strawberry milkshake. It was all delicious. The buns there do not have sesame seeds, which I was happy about. They were very nice and accommodating.”

The StopAlong
Location: Chicago, Illinois
“Came here and learned that it’s peanut-free, and the person working here had a tree nut allergy and said they only have a tree nut on one salad. Super fun casual spot with mainly burgers and pizza. We live 2 blocks away but learned about it from a Spokin review! The fries are made in vegetable oil. The hamburger buns do not have sesame on them. We saw a salad with walnuts and there are no peanuts on the food menu but they do have peanuts for a topping for sundaes. Definitely recommend! I also noticed they offer gluten-free buns and pizza and I think vegan cheese!!”

Small Cheval
Location: Chicago, Illinois
“Hot dogs and hamburgers can be hard with a sesame allergy because they’re often a hidden ingredient in buns (ground up.) When I asked if that was the case here they said no but then the manager double-checked for me by pulling up the ingredient list on her iPad and let me scan the list—much appreciated! Nut-free as well so it was nice to feel totally safe with my daughter’s meal!”

Epic Burger
Location: Chicago, Illinois
“We recently learned that Epic Burger has a blender that is dedicated free of nuts!!! It’s actually a different color.. We were so excited that we tried vanilla, chocolate and strawberry! They were so good! We also had French fries which are made in a fryer dedicated free of nuts and a burger too of course! And omg for anyone with a sesame allergy, they are sesame-free including their buns! Such a find, we love Epic Burger! We have had great experiences here. They are almost more conservative than us. We’d feel comfortable eating at any location”

“The waitress was back and forth to check in on allergies with the kitchen and gave me tons of updates. I ended up getting a grilled chicken BLT on a gluten-free bun and it was SO good!! Stopped here after a long day of walking around in Salem and it did not disappoint. It’s just right off of the main drag so it was a little quieter, which was great!!”

“Ordered takeout from here Saturday night and had a great experience! I split a burger with fries and the bun was sesame-free! They wrote my allergies on my receipt so I could see it when I picked it up + the hostess confirmed everything for me a few times over the phone! Note: I’m newly able to eat baked milk, so I did not ask if there was milk in the bun.”

“Update: confirmed their gluten-free bread is Udi’s white bread! Their rolls are brioche so no sesame but they do have dairy.
Right next to Fire and Stone and the Oysterman. So amazing. Love their burritos and burgers. Their salmon is also really good + their steak tips. Their burger buns contain milk but they can sub a gluten-free roll or white bread. Staff is great with double and triple checking with the kitchen”

“Sooo amazing here and sesame-free buns! All the food items are nut-free and the only thing with sesame are the chicken wings (which state they have sesame on the menu and the waitress informed there’s sesame oil as well) So exciting to be able to eat most things on the menu!!! One of my favorite spots”

American Girl Cafe
Location: New York, New York
“I had the best experience with American Girl! They asked if anyone had allergies before even seating us, and the waitress was very knowledgeable about everything I was able to have. She told me that everything was nut-free (although she said they couldn’t guarantee cross contamination from outside vendors) and that the only thing with sesame was the pretzel bun on the burger, but that they could substitute with a gluten-free bun that was sesame-free. I was able to have every course: the cinnamon buns, appetizers, and even the dessert! I got chicken tenders for my meal and they were amazing. I felt so safe with this experience and would definitely go back!! 11/10!!”

“This place is awesome! Everything is completely peanut and tree nut-free because the owner is allergic. So but allergic individuals are able to safely have amazing things like waffles, pancakes, and milkshakes. They take all allergies very seriously and also do not have any shellfish in their restaurant. FYI—their buns do not have sesame seeds! I called the bakery where they order the buns from before going, and they are safe for nut allergies.”

“One of the only safe hot dog places we have ever visited. They do not have sesame buns anywhere in the restaurant. It is also one of the only places my son has ever been besides McDonalds for real French fries, because they use safe oil and don’t fry anything else besides the fries in the oil. It’s delicious and a real hamburger and hotdog joint. SESAME-FREE!! Many gluten-free options.”

UNITED KINGDOM
Brood
Location: London, United Kingdom
“I had a cheeseburger here. We were visiting Borough Market and I was a little nervous because I thought it would be mostly street food that wasn’t very allergy/cross contamination friendly. Within the market we stumbled upon a few stalls that seemed to be more permanent and had actual kitchens, Brood being one of them. I let them know of my allergies and I was informed the only nut they had on the premises was pistachio so there was a small chance for cross-contamination which wasn’t a huge deal for me. Also their buns don’t have sesame seeds since it was a Ciabatta bun (SO yummy). Overall a very good experience and without a doubt the best burger I’ve ever had!”

The Locals Chelsea

“I had a hamburger here. Bun had no sesame seeds and the waiter was understanding of my allergy. He said there was a chance of cross contamination (something about avocados and sesame I’m not really sure what he was talking about) but I feel like that is always a risk. My burger was delicious (and there was no avocado in it so I’m still not sure what he was talking about).”
