ARIZONA

Intentional Foods (IF Cafe & Market)

Location: Mesa, Arizona

“OMG drop everything you are doing and run to Intentional Foods! This was the first time in my life in which I could walk into a restaurant and order anything off of the menu—absolutely incredible!! I had Caesar salad (including croutons!) for the first time in my life, and it did not disappoint! The sweet potato fries were outstanding and the desserts…don’t get me started! You must try the churro donut served warm!! Most of all, you must talk to Lisa, who is the kindest woman who I feel so lucky to have met!!”

Nami

Location: Phoenix, Arizona

“This was my first time having a safe version of a DQ blizzard – in the form of a Nami tSoynami! Their soft serve comes out of its own machine and is a coconut-soy base! They have food allergy protocols and used clean equipment to stir my toppings of choice (which they got out of fresh containers) into the soft serve. I found out about Nami from a fellow Spokin ambassador and was so excited to be able to try it!”

CALIFORNIA

Leo’s Superfood Bakery & Deli

Location: Los Angeles, California

“My daughter had donuts for the first time and she loved it! A lot of their foods do contain nut allergens but let them know and they’ll provide you with an ingredients list. Thanks to Alexis at the front counter, she’s so helpful!”

New Eritrea Restaurant

Location: San Francisco, California

“This is a dedicated nut-free Ethiopian food restaurant! They also have gluten-free injera so you can make any of the entrees gluten-free! They ask if it’s a preference or an allergy when you request gluten-free. Everything was amazing! My first time having Ethiopian food!”

FLORIDA

D-Luxe Burger

Location: Lake Buena Vista, Florida

“This place was incredible!! I came back two days in a row while in Disney, as it was just too good to be true! It is nearly impossible to find a restaurant with a fryer dedicated free of milk, eggs, and wheat, but here I could have crispy French fries for the first time in my life!! Just incredible! I also got a fantastic island burger on lettuce that the chef modified for me. All allergy orders come out clearly labeled! It is truly a dream come true when it comes to allergies…why can’t places like this exist outside of Disney?!?”

Sushi by Bou-Boca Raton FL @ Royal Palm Place

Location: Boca Raton, Florida

“We went to Sushi by Bou for our first Omakase experience and I was blown away by how great they were with allergies and celiac disease! They sat us at the end of the table and I had one chef dedicated to preparing my food (with my own utensils and gluten-free soy sauce). I will definitely be going back!”

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Restaurant

Location: Kissimmee, Florida

“AMAZING! I do not even have words! If you are going to Disney, you must go here! It is located inside Hollywood Studios! I had a shake for the first time in my life…and not just any shake, but a cookie shake made with Tofutti ice cream, Enjoy Life cookies, rice milk, coconut whipped cream, and house-made chocolate sauce! Chef Daniel makes everything in his own station, so no need to worry about cross-contact! In addition to the shake, I had an outstanding burger and fries! Definitely one of the best meals of my life, and the chef could not have been any kinder!!”

My first time ever having an ice cream cone—or as they call it, a Froco! Truly incredible treat. They have all ingredients listed if you ask. Gluten-free cones as well!”

TEXAS

Awesome Bites Co.

Location: Houston, Texas

“They have been amazing providing safe treats during quarantine! They are dedicated free from peanuts, tree nuts (except coconut), soy, dairy, and egg, and the very few products with wheat/gluten are made in a separate kitchen! Each day of the week is dedicated to a specific baked good and they offer about 3 rotating flavors each week that you can either preorder in advance or pick up in-store the day of! They also still have scooped ice cream in the store and toppings, but they are no longer doing ice cream samples. You can also still order ice cream cakes, cookie cakes, and pints of ice cream to-go! Awesome Bites Co. was my first ever cookie cake! My boyfriend found this bakery and ordered me a cookie cake for my 20th birthday! The bakery was founded by a food-allergy mom and is dedicated free from dairy, egg, soy, peanuts and tree nuts! Almost everything is gluten-free (they have cross-contact protocols to separate wheat-containing products)! I didn’t know this until we picked up the cake, but they also have homemade scooped Top 8-free ice cream in-store! There were some super cool flavors like Suntella (made in store chocolate sunflower butter) and gluten-free cookies and creme, and they have gluten-free cones and allergy-friendly toppings! The cookie cake was delicious and made my birthday so special!”

WASHINGTON

Ghostfish Brewing Company Taproom + Restaurant

CANADA

Chuck’s Steakhouse

Location: Banff, Canada

“This restaurant was one we emailed before our trip but never heard back from. Knowing they had grass-fed steak on the menu, we figured we would try talking to them in person. Luckily, they were very knowledgeable about food allergies, which allowed me to feel safe to be a walk-in guest. It was the first time I ever enjoyed a steak in a restaurant; It was such a great experience. Along with the grass-fed steak, they also made us roasted carrots and left the seasoning on the side for my discretion.”
@amandamacgregor who manages celiac and tree nut, milk, soy, fish, shellfish, mustard, fruit, and vegetable allergies

ITALY

Grotta Palazzese

Location: Polignano a Mare, Italy

“Checked off a bucket-list date night! The hotel reached out to me after making reservations and listing food allergies. They made each of my dishes safe. Yes, we paid more for the experience, but I was blown away by the food. I could eat my weight in their scallops! This was my first time having gluten-free ravioli. The staff were wonderful when bringing each dish. They explained each plate and which allergens were removed. I highly recommend this restaurant experience.”
@mama_crist who manages celiac and tree nut, milk, soy, wheat, and meat allergies

Old Time Pasticceria

Location: Motta Sant’Anastasia, Italy

“We hit the ‘senza glutine’ jackpot today. One entire case was allergen-specific. Dairy, nut, and gluten-free. They had posters to show each item they offer with them lined up by flavors. This is the first time we have been able to try a safe Arancini! The staff was amazing at keeping our foods separated and safe. This is now our go-to for breakfast and lunch!”
